Crocheted Baby Car Seat Straps

You will need:

♦A 50g ball of Worsted weight Yarn/Aran/10 Ply.

♦A 5mm Crochet hook

♦Darning needle

♦6 buttons

Abbreviations:

Ch - Chain

Dc – Double Crochet

Tr - Treble Crochet

Htr – Half Treble

Dtr – Double Treble

This pattern is written with English terminology

Strap Pads (make 2)

♦ To begin Ch 20

♦ Dc into every Ch across, Ch 1, Turn

♦Continue until piece measures about 6 inches (17cm), when piece measures 6 inches (17cm) Ch 1 and Dc all down one side of the piece. (15 Dc)

♦Ch 1, Turn, Ch 4, Miss next Dc, Dc into the next 3 stitches, Ch 5 Miss next Dc, Dc into the next 3 stitches,  Ch 5, Miss next Dc, Dc into next Dc.

To finish:

Stitch 3 buttons on the opposite side to the button holes on each strap pad.  Weave all ends in and your done!  If you wish for the pads to be more padding place a layer of wadding on the inside and either another layer of crochet or a layer of fabric on top of the wadding and stitch in place.  Then simply place on your car seat straps.
